Why Have the COVID-19 Vaccine?
COVID-19 continues to circulate, and immunity from previous vaccination or infection reduces over time. Updated vaccines are formulated to better match currently circulating variants, helping to reduce the risk of serious illness, especially in older adults and those with certain health conditions.
Am I Eligible for the Free NHS COVID-19 Vaccine?
Eligibility is set annually by the NHS and generally includes adults 65 and over, pregnant women, people with certain long-term health conditions, carers, and frontline health and social care workers. Our team can confirm whether you qualify this season.
When Should I Get Vaccinated?
Vaccination is generally offered seasonally, in line with current UK guidance, typically ahead of the autumn and winter months when respiratory illness tends to increase.
How Many Doses Do I Need?
Most eligible adults are offered a single seasonal dose. Your pharmacist can advise if your personal health circumstances mean additional doses are recommended.
Side Effects of the COVID-19 Vaccine
Common side effects are mild and short-lived — soreness at the injection site, tiredness, headache or muscle aches for a day or two. Serious reactions are rare, and our pharmacist will check your suitability before vaccinating.

What our patients say
Trusted by the Chiswick community
“I’ve been using Alisha pharmacy for 20 years now. I have other pharmacies nearer to my home, but I always use Alisha because Raj and all the rest of the team there are so friendly, professional, knowledgeable, informative and helpful. They obviously really care about what they do. A local gem.”
— P Hall, Google Review
“Raj the pharmacist runs a service of excellence and care to his local community. He and his team go above and beyond and know their community. The standard has always been exemplary. Would be such a tragedy to lose all of this to something impersonal and generic.”
— Harika Basharan, Google Review
