What Is Chlamydia Testing?
Chlamydia is one of the most common sexually transmitted infections in the UK, and often has no symptoms — meaning many people don’t know they have it. Testing is quick and simple, usually involving a urine sample or self-taken swab, with no examination needed.
Am I Eligible for the Free NHS Service?
The NHS Chlamydia Screening Programme covers people aged 15-24, and this age group can access free testing kits and condoms through participating pharmacies like ours. Anyone outside this range can also speak to us about local sexual health testing options.
How Does the Test Work?
You collect the sample yourself, in private, following simple instructions from our pharmacist. The kit is sent off for laboratory testing, and you’ll be given clear guidance on how and when to get your results.
What Happens if I Test Positive?
Chlamydia is easily treated with a short course of antibiotics. If your result is positive, you’ll be given confidential advice on treatment and next steps, including informing recent sexual partners so they can be tested too.
